Gateway to Hope Lends a Hand Imagine you were diagnosed with breast cancer and didn’t have insurance. That is exactly the situation our patients face. They feel helpless because they don’t know where to turn... until they find out about Gateway to Hope! We arrange HANDS ON care for our patients at no cost! Handing Our Patients Hope Gateway to Hope was founded in 2005 by Drs. David Caplin, reconstructive surgeon and Marlys Schuh, surgical oncologist. In just five years, it has become the ultimate lifeline for those facing an uncertain future because they have breast cancer and cannot afford treatment. |
You’re in Good Hands In addition to arranging medical services – we provide Hope for what seems to be a hopeless situation. We give our patients a chance to keep their families intact and watch their children grow. We give our patients a chance to return to healthy, fulfilling lives.

As our patient census grows, so does our need for your support.

Hand in Hand with Our Partners GTH partners with over 140 top professionals who help us accomplish our lifesaving goals. Our greatest accomplishment HANDS DOWN is the number of lives we have saved! In 2010, we have arranged breast cancer treatment for 65 new patients. That’s an amazing number when you compare it to the 105 individuals we helped in our first 4 years. In addition, we make referrals to other medical facilities for individuals who have needs outside the realm of GTH. We have made over 480 referrals…we never leave anyone stranded! |
Lend Your Hand With your generous support, Thelma’s Gift, a special fund created in memory of Thelma Muskin provides the necessities of life that help the entire family get through the difficult days of treatment like childcare, food, utilities, gasoline and mortgage payments.
