St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis FC has partnered with Gateway to Hope, a local nonprofit organization, for the final home game of the 2017 season on Saturday, October 7th to raise funds for breast cancer patients in need.

During the match, Saint Louis FC will wear pink jerseys which will then be auctioned online with proceeds benefiting Gateway to Hope.  Likewise, revenue from pink merchandise sold in the Soccer Park Fan Shop throughout the month of October will be donated to the organization with items including shirts and keychains. Saint Louis FC will also recognize a breast cancer survivor at halftime of the October 7th game against the Richmond Kickers.

“Saint Louis FC is proud to partner with Gateway to Hope during the month of October,” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, Saint Louis FC Vice-President and General Manager. “It is important to the club and our fans and supporters to be involved locally in our community.  Having an opportunity to assist Gateway to Hope is something that we are excited to do here during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”

Gateway to Hope provides emotional support and financial assistance to women diagnosed with breast cancer by helping remove barriers that keep them from getting the lifesaving treatment they need. The organization provides patients with health insurance premium assistance, along with critical everyday living expenses such as rent, utilities, transportation and medication.

“We have found that for many women, it’s not just the diagnosis of breast cancer that puts fear into their heart; it’s the other challenges,” said Tracy Gellman, Development Manager at Gateway to Hope. “Will I be able to work? If I lose my job or if I am put on leave, will I still have health insurance to cover my treatment?  How sick am I going to be? Will I be able to keep up with financial obligations? Our clinical staff answers these and hundreds of other questions when newly diagnosed breast cancer patients call our lifeline.”

More information about the online auction for the pink jerseys will be released in the coming days.  For tickets to the Saint Louis FC vs. Richmond Kickers match, click the link below.
